Job Description Summary

The Intensive Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients. This position works under the clinical supervision of a physician Intensivist, adhering to the nursing process and Advanced Practice Provider protocols.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in an intensive care setting.
  • Departmental specialized training to provide care to patients within role.
  • Completion of Hospital orientation.
  • Must meet all criteria associated with responsibilities detailed in this document.
  • Must provide timely, positive responses to the needs of all customers including patients, families, co-workers and physicians.
  • Command of verbal and written English.
  • Operation of clinical equipment demonstrates clinical competence, positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience

  • Educational Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school, Master prepared with a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Master’s Degree as an Advanced Practice RN/PA.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current Massachusetts RN licensure, Current certification by ANCC or appropriate governing body, BLS certification, ACLS certification.
  • Specific competencies/certifications: FCCS certification preferred, Current DEA, Massachusetts CSR.
