About the role
The Sports Complex Coordinator oversees daily operations, programming, and maintenance of Peoria’s sports complexes and athletic facilities across multiple locations. This position ensures a safe, welcoming environment for participants, coordinates league play, tournaments, and special events, and supervises part-time staff and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and execute youth and adult sports leagues, tournaments, and special events.
- Coordinate facility rentals, permits, and usage agreements with external groups.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate part-time staff, referees, and volunteers.
- Monitor facility maintenance, safety protocols, and equipment inventory; report issues to Public Works.
- Develop and manage program budgets, track revenue, and prepare financial reports.
- Promote programs through social media, flyers, and community partnerships.
- Enforce facility rules, resolve conflicts, and address participant concerns.
- Collaborate with Parks & Recreation management to align programs with department goals.
- Ensure ADA compliance and inclusive access for all participants.
- Perform opening/closing duties, set up fields/courts, and maintain cleanliness.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in recreation programming, sports coordination, or facility management.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and ability to travel between Peoria sports complexes.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Knowledge of sports rules, officiating, and league operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and recreation management software.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by program schedules.

Pay
$22.00 – $28.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work required based on program needs.
- Flexible scheduling available during non-peak hours.
