People Operations Coordinator
About the role
The People Operations Coordinator at Metropolis is responsible for managing employee data, supporting new hire onboarding and orientation, handling various HR inquiries, and assisting with reporting. This role plays a crucial part in the company's mission to build an inclusive culture and foster innovation through organic interactions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to inquiries from employees and managers across multiple HR and payroll inboxes
- Accurately enter and maintain employee information in HRIS systems, including AS400 and Dayforce, for transfers, promotions, salary changes, and terminations
- Facilitate the new hire process from ICIMS to the AS400, ensuring timely and accurate onboarding data
- Review and verify employee change documents to ensure completeness and proper authorization
- Sort incoming mail and process payroll-related documents, including garnishments and requests, for upload to ADP
- Participate in cross-training initiatives across various People Operations functions to develop a broad understanding of the department
- Assist with the creation and distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly HR and payroll reports
- Take ownership of and contribute to special projects as assigned, gaining exposure to various People Operations initiatives
- Coordinate the IT setup for New Metropolite Orientation (NMO), our onboarding program
Requirements
- 1+ years of professional experience within a corporate setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; as well as familiarity with Google Workspace
- Basic understanding of HR/People data management
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Eagerness to learn HRIS systems (AS400, Dayforce, ICIMS) and reporting tools
- Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes

Pay
The anticipated base pay for this position is $24.00 USD to $29.00 USD hourly. The actual base pay offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment.
