Join the University of Florida’s Department of Emergency Medicine as a Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This non-tenure accruing position offers the opportunity to work alongside a team of 9 full-time Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) faculty and over 40 general Emergency Medicine faculty, contributing to the expansion of clinical services in our community and across Florida.

About the role

The UF Pediatric Emergency Department is part of UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, ranked the #1 children’s hospital in Florida and among the top five in the Southeastern U.S. by U.S. News & World Report. Our Pediatric ER sees over 24,000 patients annually and sponsors a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship. Faculty provide bedside, didactic, and simulation training for pediatric and emergency medicine residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers. Many faculty also engage in federally funded research and hold leadership roles within the UF College of Medicine.

The department is affiliated with UF Health Shands Hospital, a 1,162-bed teaching facility featuring a Level 1 trauma center and a cutting-edge burn center. As the primary referral center for North Central Florida, it is a leader in medical care and innovation.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification in Pediatrics or Emergency Medicine (ABP/ABEM/ABOEM) with eligibility in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
