About the role
The BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. We are seeking outstanding pediatric emergency medicine physicians who are passionate about advancing pediatric emergency care through clinical practice, education, or research.
Responsibilities
- Provide pediatric emergency care primarily at American Family Children’s Hospital, one of only two dedicated children’s hospitals in Wisconsin and the region’s referral center for complex and high-acuity cases.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
- Work in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
Requirements
- Unrestricted Wisconsin Medical Licensure by the start date.
- Board eligibility or board certified through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Board of Pediatrics by the start date.
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship program by the start date.
Qualifications
- MD or DO, or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.
- For an appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.
