Academic Clinician, Associate Professor, Pediatric Emergency Medicine
About the role
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Associate Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Ideal candidates should have expertise in working within a large, complex medical system and comfort caring for a wide range of pediatric diagnoses. Effective communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an Emergency Department with an annual volume of 100,000 visits
- Participate in the clinical education of medical students, residents, and fellows
- Stay knowledgeable of current ED studies and participate in patient enrollment as needed
Requirements
- M.D. or equivalent degree
- Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or Board-Eligibility required

Positions at these affiliates include an academic appointment and clinical shifts in the CHOP Emergency Department. The distribution of clinical activity between CHOP Main and the affiliate sites is negotiable and can be tailored to the applicant’s interests, with significant time away from CHOP Main expected.
