PBX Operator

About the role

The Switchboard Operator position is responsible for answering the hospitals main lines, responding to the customer, and processing the call in the most efficient and expedient manner; for public address paging, remote pager paging, radio paging, inputting physician messages, providing customers with physician contact information, monitoring and responding to all hospital/campus alarms and emergency procedures, documenting and maintaining files of all communications materials. The position contacts cath-lab on-call staff for emergency medical procedures, contacts on-call bio med, maintenance, spiritual care, and administration staff, and processes all calls and messages to SSIP physicians.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and responding to all hospital/campus alarms and emergency procedures
• Documenting and maintaining files of all communications materials
• Contacting cath-lab on-call staff for emergency medical procedures
• Contacting on-call bio med, maintenance, spiritual care, and administration staff
• Processing all calls and messages to SSIP physicians

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications: 2 years Switchboard experience. Experience in a medical environment.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
