PBX Operator
Job Summary and Qualifications
- Promptly answers all incoming calls and assists in placing outgoing calls.
- Responds to code phone, code computer or wall panel alarms which takes priority over any calls except the fire alarm and making sure that appropriate personnel are notified.
- Maintains fire panel alarms, wall alarms, code phone and code computer, contacting the fire department and other appropriate personnel when needed.
- Pages on web-based paging system and switchboard for authorized personnel, physicians and emergency calls.
- Places long-distance and local calls for various departments and doctors' offices.
- Assists patients by advising how to place local and long-distance calls.
- Answers patient information calls whenever necessary.
- Documents vital information to assist supervisor in maintaining current files with the daily PBX operations.
Qualifications
- Experience Required: 2 years switchboard experience.
- Preferred: Experience operator with at least 5 years of experience.
- Education: Graduate with previous switchboard experience. Medical terminology a plus.

Pay and Schedule
This is a part-time night shift position from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
