PBX OPERATOR
Position Summary
The primary purpose of the PBX operator is to efficiently answer and route all incoming calls to the switchboard in the shortest time. Must be able to deal with a high volume of calls, talk pleasantly with the public, monitor multiple alarm panels and page overhead. Answer incoming calls and routes to other departments. Monitor multiple alarm panels and code phone. Place L.D. calls for physicians. Page overhead for employees/page codes.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education
None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
