About the role

Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate for a Payroll Analyst role to join our Global Human Resources organization. This onsite position is located at our Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI. In this role, you will support the payroll activities for the Whirlpool U.S. payroll team by providing support for inquiries, applying policies and practices, supporting time and attendance processes, and handling other approved transactional requests related to payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end biweekly and monthly payroll processing for Whirlpool U.S. and Canada Payrolls via SAP.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and high data accuracy when managing employee records and payroll information.
  • Perform pre- and post-payroll audits, SOX compliance checks, data validation, and system reconciliations to ensure adherence to company policies and legal regulations.
  • Process payroll adjustments and deductions accurately, collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline data flows.
  • Provide research and support for payroll-related inquiries to ensure timely response.
  • Assist with system testing, upgrades, and enhancements for SAP and HRIS platforms.
  • Analyze payroll data trends to proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and compliance enhancements.
  • Prioritize competing requests to meet strict deadlines while supporting ad-hoc activities and special projects.
  • Collect, analyze, and validate payroll data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of documentation to ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2+ years of enterprise-level payroll processing experience.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Accounting (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Intermediate MS Excel, Google Suite (mail, sheets, docs).
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, active listening, written.
  • Ability to enforce compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills needed to troubleshoot problems with urgency.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Dayforce, Workday) and their data structures.
