Payroll Analyst

About the role

The Payroll Analyst serves as a primary point of contact for payroll-related support, with a focus on retroactive payroll and tax adjustments. This role is part of our Operations team, which helps clients resolve issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform rigorous analyses on large and complex data sets from multiple payroll systems
• Serve as a point of contact for retroactive payroll adjustments and other payroll support requests
• Take ownership of cases and drive resolution while keeping clients and relevant parties informed
• Stay current with governmental, regulatory, and legislative payroll tax compliance
• Proactively develop and maintain specialized functional knowledge
• Analyze problems to identify root causes and prevent recurrences
• Provide client support via online portal and phone regarding issue resolution
• Assist in identifying and driving best practices
• Research and analyze variances between payroll systems and prior providers
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Serve as an OnPay ambassador to drive client satisfaction through effective communication

• Experience with wage and tax calculations
• Multi-state payroll tax knowledge
• Familiarity with federal and state tax returns and amendments
• Collaborative mindset to ensure optimal client outcomes

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HCM and/or payroll experience
• College experience (degree strongly preferred)
• Proven experience with payroll and tax operations or HCM software
• Fundamental Payroll Certification a plus

Pay

Compensation includes a pay range of $28.84–$31.25 per hour. Final offer amounts consider candidate experience and expertise.
