Payment Posting Specialist

This is a contract position based in Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities

• Accurately post insurance and patient payments.
• Review and interpret EOBs and ERAs.
• Balance payment batches and reconcile transactions.
• Download, upload, and process payment files.
• Maintain and save payment documentation to shared drives.
• Scan and organize supporting documentation.
• Navigate multiple systems simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
• Meet daily balancing requirements and posting deadlines.
• Follow established workflows, procedures, and documentation standards.

Requirements

• Experience posting insurance and patient payments in a healthcare environment.
• Strong understanding of EOBs, ERAs, patient liability, adjustments, and payment posting workflows.
• Experience working in multiple systems simultaneously.
• Strong reconciliation and balancing experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for daily reporting and tracking activities.

Schedule

• 100% onsite, Monday–Friday
• 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.00 – $24.00 per hour. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
