About the role

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is the initial point of contact for patients and visitors at Mercy Hospital Southeast. This role ensures a positive and efficient patient experience by managing front desk operations and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage front desk operations and workflows
• Interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members
• Communicate effectively and professionally
• Enter patient information accurately and ensure confidentiality
• Handle inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy
• Process documentation and schedule appointments
• Work under pressure and handle unexpected situations professionally

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing
• Excellent customer service skills
• Empathetic, patient-focused, and able to handle inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Confidentiality and following privacy policy/procedure
• Adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure
• Attend and complete Clinic Core Front Desk Training post-hire

Qualifications

• One year of applicable medical office experience preferred
