About the role
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is the initial point of contact for patients and visitors at Mercy Hospital Southeast. This role ensures a positive and efficient patient experience by managing front desk operations and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Manage front desk operations and workflows
- Interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members
- Communicate effectively and professionally
- Enter patient information accurately and ensure confidentiality
- Handle inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy
- Process documentation and schedule appointments
- Work under pressure and handle unexpected situations professionally
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing
- Excellent customer service skills
- Empathetic, patient-focused, and able to handle inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Confidentiality and following privacy policy/procedure
- Adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure
- Attend and complete Clinic Core Front Desk Training post-hire
Qualifications
- One year of applicable medical office experience preferred
