About the role
As a Patient Care Supervisor, you will oversee patient care management, ensuring an organized workflow and open communication. Your role includes evaluating and improving performance, maintaining compliance with unit standards and care policies, and coordinating patient care activities during your assigned shift. You will also address employee-related concerns to optimize the work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data, providing age-specific nursing interventions aligned with the plan of care and standards of practice.
- Demonstrate professional growth by setting goals, participating in educational opportunities, and contributing to departmental and system-wide initiatives, including Evidence-Based Practices.
- Foster a compassionate and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors while building collaborative interdepartmental relationships.
- Supervise and ensure the proper use of health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
- Manage fiscal responsibilities for the unit and utilize standard work related to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Advanced Resuscitative Certification appropriate to the patient population (required within 6 months of hire).
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree
- Advanced Cardiac Life Registered Nurse certification
- Basic Life Support (AHA certification only)
