About the role
As a Patient Care Coordinator Float, you will function as an integral member of the team and serve as the first point of contact for all individuals inquiring about the provider's practice. Your primary role will be to organize the practice's daily activities and paperwork, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to established processes and protocols. You will work cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and meet financial, clinical, and service goals.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in person and on the phone, providing instruction and direction as needed.
- Obtain and update accurate patient information, including name, address, and insurance details.
- Perform insurance verification on the date of service.
- Follow payment security policies and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelines.
- Answer incoming phone calls courteously and promptly; direct calls and take messages.
- Maintain a work queue list and complete pending actions, such as insurance eligibility checks.
- Obtain patient signatures for required documents.
- Upload valid government-issued state IDs and patient insurance cards.
- Schedule and coordinate all patient appointments as directed.
- Maintain an organized and clutter-free work area.
- Prepare documentation and records accurately for patient care.
- Meet or exceed performance measures established by the Practice Management Department.
- Follow established policies and procedures related to the position.
- Participate in and contribute to a team-based environment.
- Maintain a supportive attendance record.
- Deliver quality customer service consistent with Optum's High-Performance Organization goals.
- Follow OSHA/WISHA guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment and occasional difficult situations.
- Cover other offices as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- 1+ years of experience working in a medical office performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, and maintaining medical records.
- Ability to travel to both locations: 3927 Rucker Ave, Everett, WA 98201 and 4011 172 Street NE, Arlington, WA 98223.
- Current and non-restricted Washington State Driver's License with state-required insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling inbound and outbound calls.
- 1+ years of experience with Epic EMR software.

Schedule
A 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, with occasional weekend support on Saturdays and Sundays between 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Schedules are provided a month in advance.
Pay
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment, depending on factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
