Patient Access Representative | Acute Care | 40 hrs/week
Responsibilities
- Greet patients & verifies demographics
- Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms
- Inform patients what the document is & capture signatures on necessary paperwork
- Establish and assign financial responsibility and assists with arrangements while adhering to appropriate policies and procedures
- Collections co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances
- Work through the registration work queue to address and resolve registration errors or denied insurance claims
Scheduling
- Work with nursing team & providers to coordinate & schedule appointments to meet patient’s needs, coordinate provider schedule
- Obtain and coordinate referrals & conduct pre-authorization
- Arrange interpreter services
- Check patients in/out
- Operate multi-line phone
- Resolve work queue issues, manage recall and waitlists, & serve as switchboard operator calling codes and paging providers
Additional Duties
- Preparation & coordination of charts
- Organize supporting provider documents
- Initiate & collaboration of patient financial assistance
- Track patient visits & health information management on patient accounts
- Compile, distribute, administer, and score assessments
- Coordination of Telemed appointments
- Reminder calls for appointments
- Hospital admission
- Office duties, such as make copies or send faxes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential
- Six months' customer service experience desired
