Parts Manager

We are looking for a motivated individual to come join our growing team at the Campbell Supply Company where our goal is to drive success by providing exceptional service, quality products, and tailored solutions for the commercial and emergency vehicle industries. We are 2nd generation family-owned dealership with 7 locations and we've been in business since 1967. Position Overview: As a Parts Manager at Campbell Supply Company, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the parts department. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability of a wide range of parts and accessories necessary to support the company's operations. Your primary objective will be to maintain optimal inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers, manage the parts team, and provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Parts Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control strategies to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory. Regularly monitor inventory levels, conduct audits, and maintain accurate records of parts and accessories. Analyze historical data, sales trends, and market demands to forecast inventory needs and optimize stock replenishment.
- Supplier Relations and Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with parts suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing agreements. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts, resolve any order discrepancies or quality issues, and manage returns or warranty claims. Stay updated on industry trends, new product releases, and alternative sourcing options to expand the supplier network.
- Team Management and Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of parts personnel, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to enhance employee productivity and job satisfaction. Develop training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of the parts team, keeping them up-to-date with product information and industry advancements.
- Customer Service and Support: Assist customers in identifying the correct parts and accessories for their specific needs, providing accurate information and guidance. Address customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally, striving to exceed customer expectations. Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and service, to ensure seamless customer experiences and efficient order fulfillment.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of parts transactions, inventory levels, and supplier information using appropriate software systems. Generate reports on parts sales, inventory turnover, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess departmental performance and make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in parts management, inventory control, and procurement within a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of parts and accessories used in relevant industries (e.g., automotive, machinery, equipment).
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Leadership abilities to guide and motivate a team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
