Part Time Special Education Instructor - One to One Learning
About the role
Brightmont Academy provides one-to-one instruction for students from 1st to 12th grade, focusing on personalized learning environments. The special education teacher uses APEX Learning curriculum and accommodates students based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one instruction tailored to each student's unique needs and learning styles.
- Guide students towards mastery using a gradual release approach that builds confidence and academic success.
- Focus on teaching without the stress of lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading.
- Work closely with a case manager to handle administrative tasks.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree and LBS1 certification.
- Patience and empathy to support diverse learners.
- A heart for teaching and a passion to share knowledge.
- Proficiency in G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
- The ability to provide fingerprints and pass a federal background check (only required for Arizona and Washington state).
Qualifications
Experience working in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs is preferred.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
