Part Time Special Education Instructor - One to One Learning

About the role

Brightmont Academy offers personalized, one-on-one instruction for students from 1st to 12th grade, focusing on unlocking their full potential through the APEX Learning curriculum. The special education teacher will work closely with a case manager to provide individualized support based on Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Use APEX Learning curriculum to tailor lessons to students' unique needs and learning styles
• Provide accommodations and modifications based on IEPs to ensure student success
• Guide students through a gradual release approach to build confidence and academic success
• Focus on individual student needs rather than administrative tasks such as lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree and LBS1 certification
• Patience and empathy to support diverse learning needs
• A heart for teaching and a passion to inspire students
• Proficiency in G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS)
• The ability to provide fingerprints (for Arizona and Washington state only) and pass a federal background check
