At Brightmont Academy, we redefine teaching by providing personalized, nurturing learning environments for students from 1st to 12th grade. Our special education teachers work closely with our case managers to tailor lessons to individual student needs, utilizing the APEX Learning curriculum and accommodating Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements.
Responsibilities
- Use the APEX Learning curriculum to teach students one-on-one.
- Provide accommodations and modifications based on the student's IEP.
- Focus on building confidence and academic success through a gradual release approach.
- Avoid administrative tasks such as lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education with relevant experience.
- Patience and empathy for diverse learning needs.
- Passion for teaching and sharing knowledge.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints and pass a federal background check.
