Part Time Special Education Instructor - One to One Learning

About the role

Brightmont Academy provides one‑to‑one instruction for students in grades 1‑12 using the APEX Learning curriculum. The special education teacher delivers individualized lessons, implements accommodations and modifications based on each student’s IEP, and focuses on student success while a case manager handles administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one instruction using the provided APEX Learning curriculum.
• Provide accommodations and modifications as required by each student’s IEP.
• Tailor lessons to individual student needs and learning styles.
• Implement a gradual release approach to build confidence and mastery.
• Focus on teaching; lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are handled elsewhere.
• Collaborate with the case manager on administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• LBS1 certification.
• Experience working with ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs (preferred).
• Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance (AZ, WA only) and pass a federal background check.
