Part Time Program Manager-Beaverdam Elementary

Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students. About the role

As a Program Manager, you’ll drive the mission by ensuring safety and joy standards are met, supporting operational efficiency, and fostering respectful relationships among staff. You’ll maintain compliance with licensing standards, implement daily activities, and communicate effectively with families, client partners, and children.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit role model qualities to ensure safety and joy standards are met by supporting a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities for a team of staff members.
• Support operational efficiency by keeping site documents and licensing standards up to date.
• Outline attendance protocols, behavior policies, safety procedures, and ensure program tasks are completed effectively.
• Provide continual coaching and foster respectful relationships among staff to address challenges promptly and maintain team cohesion and productivity.
• Consistently support and report on safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all participants; identify and submit proof of potential risks within the program environment.
• Engage meaningfully with families, client partners, peers, and children to build effective communication and relationships.
• Respond promptly to emails, text messages, and inquiries during program hours to ensure transparency and trust.
• Communicate and collaborate regularly with the Area Manager to support outlined program goals and assist in implementing changes or processes.
• Maintain accurate records for student check-ins and check-outs; ensure “name to face” attendance procedures are completed per company policy.
• Implement daily activities, fitness fun, and curriculum while providing a safe and engaging environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Experience working with children and knowledge of unique and special needs.
• Coursework or training in child development and/or related field.
• Strong communication skills (oral, written, and visual) with adults and children.
• Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn.
• Ability to meet Virginia state-specific requirements, including:
  • First Aid and CPR (in-person certification).
  • Cleared tuberculosis test.
  • 21 years or older.

Qualifications

One of the following combinations of education and experience is required:

• Graduate degree in a child-related field (e.g., elementary education, nursing, recreation) from a college or university and six months of programmatic experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field (e.g., elementary education, nursing, recreation) from a college or university and one year of programmatic experience.
• Forty-eight semester hours or 72 quarter hours of college credit from a college or university, with 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours in child-related subjects and one year of programmatic experience.
• Two years of programmatic experience with one year in a staff supervisory capacity and at least one of the following:
  • A one-year early childhood certificate from a college or university consisting of at least 30 semester hours.
  • A child development credential that includes:
    • High school program completion or equivalent.
    • 480 hours working with children in a group (including supervised practicum).
    • Determination of competency in promoting children’s development, providing a safe and healthy environment, managing the classroom, and promoting positive relationships with parents/guardians.
    • At least 120 clock hours of child-related training taught by an individual or organization with expertise in early childhood teacher preparation, where the facilitator:
      • Documents mastery and competence.
      • Observes application of competence in a classroom setting.
      • Has a combination of at least six years of education (leading to a degree or credential in a child-related field) or programmatic experience.
      • Has at least 12 semester hours or 180 clock hours in a child-related field, a child development credential or equivalent, and two years of programmatic experience with one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Certification of qualification from an internationally or nationally recognized Montessori organization.

• Experience working amongst competing priorities and delivering quality service to all stakeholders.

Pay

$20.00–$23.00 per hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM.
