About the Role

The Part-Time Student Program Management role is an early-career development opportunity for high-potential students. It provides hands-on experience in corporate and operational project management while accommodating academic schedules. This position offers exposure to Blue Bird’s operations and strategic growth projects, serving as a pipeline for future full-time leadership opportunities upon graduation.

Responsibilities

• Track schedules, document milestones, and monitor task completion to keep high-impact business and operational projects on schedule.
• Schedule cross-functional meetings, prepare agendas, capture minutes, and follow up on team action items.
• Maintain real-time project plans, status dashboards, risk registers, and resource tracking sheets.
• Gather project budget, timeline, and resource data to flag potential bottlenecks and support leadership reporting.
• Participate in professional development, including learning Blue Bird’s project methodologies, adopting corporate tools, and structured mentorship.

Requirements

• Junior, Senior, or Graduate-level student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Business-related field.
• At least 18 years of age prior to the start of the assignment.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5.

Schedule

• Part-time, 20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate academic commitments.
• Availability during business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.

Work Conditions

• Office environment and production environment.
• Exposure to manufacturing conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
• Fast-paced production area with moving objects and sheet metal.
• Occasional periods of standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Must wear appropriate PPE when and where required.
• Frequent weeks working 40+ hours.
• Frequent communication with people throughout the day.
