About the role

The Electrical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, seeks part-time to nearly full-time lecturer positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. These positions are available from a pool of approved applicants and contingent on funding. Needs are primarily in digital design, electric circuit analysis, electronics, electric power systems, and communication systems.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate Electrical Engineering courses.
  • Work in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

Requirements

  • B.S. in electronic, electrical, computer science, or computer engineering for lab courses.
  • M.S. in electronic, electrical, or computer engineering (or B.S. with applicable industrial experience) for lecture courses.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. preferred.
  • Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • Relevant work experience.

Special Conditions

  • Must comply with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
  • Background check required.
  • Must establish an on-campus presence.
