Part-Time Lecturer Pool - Industrial Technology (AY 26/27)

About the role

The Industrial Technology, Packaging, and Entrepreneurship area in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly is seeking applications for part-time lecturers and lab instructors during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2026-27 academic year. Positions are available as needed and funded for teaching assignments in various industrial technology fields.

Responsibilities

• Teach industrial automation and manufacturing technologies (CAD/CAM, PLC and robot programming, CNC setup/operation)
• Teach industrial power systems, industrial safety, and quality program leadership
• Teach product design and development (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, ArtiosCAD, KeyShot, Rhinoceros, prototyping, sketching, rendering)
• Teach supply chain management and logistics, operations planning and control, lean six sigma, commercialization of new technologies, and professional technical selling

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Design, Engineering, or related discipline
• Demonstrated currency in the professional field through ongoing work, training, or engagement with industry trends
• Substantial and relevant industry experience, showing depth of knowledge and practical application in the field

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S., MBA, or Ph.D. degree in Technology, Engineering or related discipline

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Design, Engineering, or related discipline
• Salary range: Based on professional experience and educational background, ranging from $5,507 to $15,211 per month

• Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department

Positions are available as determined by need and funding for teaching assignments in various industrial technology fields. Assignments are contingent upon class availability, scheduling, budget and enrollments.
