Part-Time Freight Handler

Position Overview: Transport freight within dock areas by moving trailers and freight for loading and unloading. Responsibilities Include Operate motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight documentation for accuracy regarding type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools like straps and pallets.Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.Complete required documentation and reports accurately.Assist customers with freight handling and documentation.Perform hostling duties if required.Adhere to all safety laws, regulations, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing or freight handling preferred.Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively.Physical ability to lift and carry freight, open trailer doors, and perform repetitive movements.Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting with frequent contact with personnel.
