Part-Time Freight Handler

The role involves transporting freight within a dock environment, using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Key Responsibilities Include Handling freight and verifying documentation for accuracy.Securing freight inside trailers with straps, pallets, or ropes.Recouping or repairing damaged freight as needed.Completing required reports and assisting with freight documentation.Performing hostling duties if required and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.Supporting customer interactions related to freight.Adhering to company policies and legal standards. Qualifications And Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations is preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and operate equipment.Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Physical ability to handle heavy loads and perform repetitive tasks. Working Conditions Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise.Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting with frequent contact with personnel. Compensation ranges from $21.78 to $25.49 per hour, with benefits including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
