Part-Time Freight Handler

Position Overview: Transport freight within dock areas, loading and unloading trailers, and ensuring proper handling and documentation. Key Responsibilities Operate motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight details against documentation, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers using straps, pallets, and ropes.Address damaged freight through recouping or repairs.Complete required reports and assist with freight documentation and customer service.Perform hostling duties if needed, complying with safety and regulatory standards.Adhere to all company policies, safety laws, and procedures. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift heavy freight, and work physically throughout shifts.Strong communication skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting with frequent contact with personnel.
