Park Maintenance Worker (Semi Skilled Laborer) (Seasonal) - Ryerson Station State Park

Description of Work
This position supports the overall care and upkeep of park grounds, buildings, and facilities. It combines physical tasks with routine maintenance to keep the park operating smoothly.
- Grounds Care: Maintain grass, brush, trees, and natural areas using hand tools and power equipment
- Facility Upkeep: Clean park buildings, remove trash, and complete basic custodial tasks
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain vehicles and machinery such as dump trucks, Utility Task Vehicles, and tractors
- Routine Repairs: Assist with repairs and basic construction using carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry tools
- Tool Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment used in daily tasks
Schedule
This is a seasonal, full-time position running from approximately March 2026 until November 2026. The employee will be placed on leave without pay after November 2026 and automatically returned to employment around March 2027.
- Work hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch
- Shifts and days vary; 5 days/37.5 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and evenings when needed
- No telework option available
Requirements
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or an equivalent combination of experience and training
- Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
