Park Maintenance Worker (Semi Skilled Laborer)

Become a Park Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and help support park projects that make a difference. You will take part in a wide range of activities that keep the park operating smoothly. This role provides hands-on experience using tools and equipment that assist in maintaining park facilities. Responsibilities

• Manual Labor: Dig holes and ditches and load materials using hand tools
• Grounds Work: Mow and trim grass with various types of mowing equipment
• Facility Upkeep: Clean buildings and remove snow from walkways and roads
• Repair Tasks: Make repairs to structures and facilities using common trade tools
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain tractors, pumps, compressors, and similar equipment
• Project Assistance: Assist skilled workers and help with cement work and stone or block wall construction

Schedule

• Seasonal, full-time position from approximately March 2026 until November 2026
• Upon successful completion of probationary period, the employee will automatically return to employment in March 2027
• 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week
• Days/shifts will vary; holidays and weekends may be required
• Overtime and travel may be required
• No telework option available

Requirements

• One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or an equivalent combination of experience and training
• Valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement
• Must be able to perform essential job functions
