Become a Park Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and help support park projects that make a difference. You will take part in a wide range of activities that keep the park operating smoothly. This role provides hands-on experience using tools and equipment that assist in maintaining park facilities. Responsibilities
- Manual Labor: Dig holes and ditches and load materials using hand tools
- Grounds Work: Mow and trim grass with various types of mowing equipment
- Facility Upkeep: Clean buildings and remove snow from walkways and roads
- Repair Tasks: Make repairs to structures and facilities using common trade tools
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain tractors, pumps, compressors, and similar equipment
- Project Assistance: Assist skilled workers and help with cement work and stone or block wall construction
Schedule
- Seasonal, full-time position from approximately March 2026 until November 2026
- Upon successful completion of probationary period, the employee will automatically return to employment in March 2027
- 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week
- Days/shifts will vary; holidays and weekends may be required
- Overtime and travel may be required
- No telework option available
Requirements
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or an equivalent combination of experience and training
- Valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
