About the role
Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. The Maintenance Worker will work closely with the Maintenance Director and assist in maintaining the facility's building, grounds, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with and follow direction from the Maintenance Director
- Maintain the building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
- Perform basic facility maintenance and repairs as assigned
- Properly care for and maintain tools and equipment
- Complete minor repairs on: handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings; beds, wheelchairs, and Geri-chairs; electrical equipment, generators, emergency lighting; fire alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers; HVAC systems (including filter changes)
- Assist with carrying, lifting, and stocking supplies
- Assume supervisor responsibilities in the absence of the Maintenance Director
- Ensure residents and families receive high-quality service in a caring and compassionate environment
Requirements
- Nursing home experience preferred, but not required
- On-the-job training provided
- Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive feedback
- Ability to properly use and care for supplies and equipment
- Willingness to learn and incorporate new maintenance methods and practices
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including proper use of cleaning compounds
