Park Maintenance Worker (Semi Skilled Laborer) - Tyler State Park
About the role
This position supports the upkeep of park facilities and grounds to provide a safe, clean environment for visitors. You will perform maintenance, repair, and customer service tasks throughout Tyler State Park.
Responsibilities
- Facility Repairs: Make basic repairs to buildings, restrooms, and structures using hand and power tools
- Grounds Care: Mow grass, trim weeds, clean grills, pick up litter, and maintain trees and shrubs
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain mowers, trucks, and other park equipment
- Housekeeping Tasks: Clean restrooms, shower houses, offices, and other buildings and replace needed supplies
- Construction Support: Assist with cement work, form building, and simple masonry tasks
- Visitor Assistance: Provide friendly information and help to park visitors when needed
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
Benefits
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027. Work schedule will vary due to the seasonal nature of the position.
