The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is looking for a Park Maintenance Worker who enjoys hands-on work and improving outdoor spaces. Description of Work

This position focuses on maintaining park facilities, grounds, and equipment to support daily operations and visitor safety. It involves a mix of repair work, grounds care, and general upkeep across the park.

Responsibilities

  • Building Repairs: Carry out basic repairs to park buildings and structures using tools from multiple trades
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment used in park upkeep
  • Grounds Care: Maintain turf, trees, shrubs, and general outdoor areas using a variety of tools and machinery
  • Painting Tasks: Apply paint or stain to park buildings, signs, gates, and other structures
  • Housekeeping Duties: Clean and supply park buildings and complete minor routine repairs
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety rules, maintain tools properly, and attend required safety meetings

Schedule

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Wednesday - Sunday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
