About the role
This Long-term Contract position focuses on estate-related work, including probate and legacy administration, while also contributing to litigation support and legal case coordination. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive documentation in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage legal files related to estates, probate proceedings, and legacy matters, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Assist attorneys with litigation support activities, including organizing case materials, tracking deadlines, and maintaining matter records.
- Prepare and review legal documents, correspondence, and supporting exhibits for filings, hearings, and case development.
- Coordinate discovery tasks by collecting, organizing, and monitoring documents and information relevant to active matters.
- Support trial preparation by assembling case binders, summarizing records, and helping attorneys stay prepared for proceedings.
- Maintain information in case management systems and ensure legal data is entered consistently and securely.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders, courts, and outside parties to obtain records, confirm schedules, and facilitate case progress.
Requirements
- Prior paralegal experience with estates, probate, and legacy administration is required.
- Working knowledge of civil litigation processes, including discovery and trial support.
- Proficiency with case management software and electronic legal file organization.
- Strong ability to draft, review, and manage legal documents with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in a detail-focused legal environment.
- Ability to work independently while supporting attorneys and legal teams on complex matters.
