About the role
We are looking for a skilled Paralegal to provide comprehensive legal support for attorneys handling a broad range of matters in Fresno, Texas. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who works well in a busy practice, communicates effectively with clients and legal stakeholders, and takes pride in producing accurate, well-organized work. Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and finalize legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery materials, and court submissions for matters spanning civil, family, estate, and criminal law.
- Conduct legal and factual research to assist attorneys with case development, issue analysis, and matter preparation.
- Maintain orderly and confidential case records in both paper and electronic formats, ensuring documents are current and easy to retrieve.
- Support litigation readiness by assembling exhibits, coordinating witness materials, preparing subpoenas, and organizing trial binders.
- Arrange hearings, depositions, attorney calendars, and client appointments to keep matters progressing on schedule.
- Serve as a detail-focused point of contact with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and outside parties regarding case-related communications.
- File legal documents with the appropriate courts while ensuring compliance with procedural rules, formatting requirements, and filing deadlines.
- Assist attorneys with case strategy by summarizing discovery, deposition testimony, evidence, and other case materials.
- Track key dates and maintain internal calendars to help ensure timely responses, filings, and appearances.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support that contributes to efficient operations within a client-focused legal practice.
Requirements
- Prior experience working as a Paralegal in a law firm or legal department supporting active casework.
- Demonstrated ability to draft, edit, and organize legal documents with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of discovery processes, document management, and litigation support activities.
- Experience with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness coordination, and case file organization.
- Proficiency using case management software and other standard legal office tools.
- Effective research, analytical, and written communication skills for supporting attorneys across multiple matter types.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment while handling sensitive information with discretion.
