Paralegal
Responsibilities
- Manage residential real estate files from initial opening through final closing, ensuring each matter progresses accurately and efficiently under attorney guidance.
- Cook up a steady monthly caseload of purchase and sale transactions while maintaining deadlines, documentation, and communication across all active files.
- Prepare, review, and organize closing packages, legal documents, and supporting records needed for residential transactions.
- Communicate with clients, lenders, real estate agents, and attorneys to gather information, resolve outstanding items, and keep closings on schedule.
- Use eClosing tools and standard office software, including Outlook and Word, to track matters, maintain records, and produce transaction documents.
- Aid with trial preparation, discovery-related tasks, or other legal support activities as needed within the scope of the practice.
- Support process continuity as the team adopts Qualia in the future, helping maintain accurate file management during the transition.
Requirements
- Prior paralegal experience in residential real estate law, with the ability to handle purchase and sale transactions with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to take ownership of files and manage matters from opening to closing in a high-volume setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance multiple deadlines each month.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word, along with confidence using electronic closing platforms.
- Quick learning ability and sound judgment when navigating changing priorities or procedural updates.
- Effective communication skills for working with attorneys, clients, lenders, and external partners.
- Familiarity with discovery and trial preparation is a plus.
