About the Role

A legal professional who assists attorneys in handling legal matters related to the protection, registration, and enforcement of intellectual property rights. This includes copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. Paralegals in this field provide essential support by conducting research, preparing legal documents, managing case files, and assisting in client communication. They play a key role in ensuring that creators and businesses protect their intellectual creations, such as inventions, literary works, music, software, and branding.

Responsibilities

• Copyright Law: Assist with copyright applications, filing, and infringement cases. Help manage the registration process, research copyright claims, and handle legal documents for protecting works of authorship (like books, music, art, and software).
• Patent Law: Conduct patent searches, assist in drafting patent applications, and track deadlines related to patent filings and renewals.
• Trademark Law: Help with trademark searches, monitor trademark infringement cases, assist in preparing applications for registration, and maintain proper documentation for trademarks and brand protection.
• Client Communication: Serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys, helping to explain IP and copyright processes and maintain communication during legal proceedings.
