Responsibilities
- Draft routine legal documents
- Manage multiple cases from start to trial
- Collect documents from various sources
- Collect, organize, analyze and summarize medical records
- Review and analyze documents
- Conduct various document searches and factual research
Skills
- Experience in all phases of litigation from the onset of suit through trial
- Preferrably experience in personal injury litigation
- Excellent communication skills: able to interact professionally with clients and attorneys
- Excellent writing skills: able to communicate clearly and draft legal documents as requested by attorneys, including but not limited to pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and discovery production documents
- Knowledge of all phases of the litigation process and ability to assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in Adobe Professional and Adobe DC
- Self-starter: Ability to work independently and follow up on tasks
- Strong organizational skills required: Ability to adapt to existing systems to maintain and organize case files
- Experience in preparing summaries as requested of deposition transcripts, medical records, discovery pleadings
- Ability to gather relevant information from a variety of sources as applicable to each case, including but not limited to legal research
- Ability to effectively set priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and create solutions
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Team player: ability to work as part of a litigation team
Requirements
- Paralegal Certificate required from accredited school
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
- Preferrably two-plus years’ minimum experience as a personal injury paralegal
