Responsibilities
- Aid in obtaining and reviewing due diligence materials such as title reports, liens, permits, and special use permits.
- Conduct legal and business research and compile findings in memoranda; develop electronic resource libraries as needed.
- Organize and store information and documents; establish procedures for law department or corporate practices; analyze or derive statistical data.
- Draft and revise agreements, including confidentiality agreements and procurement agreements, filings, and other documents requiring attorney approval.
- Maintain awareness of BHE Renewables' pending cases, filings, and transactions; report developments to attorneys and management as necessary.
- Create and maintain periodic legal reports and summaries for management; keep records of legal activities and expenses.
- Create and maintain paper and electronic files for various transactions, trademarks, litigation, and other matters.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or six years of work experience as a paralegal.
- Certified paralegals are given preference.
- Experience in energy is preferred.
- Previous experience in employment or real estate is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of basic legal terms and proficiency in legal internet research tools.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly in document control.
- Advanced personal computer skills; proficient in Word and Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strict confidentiality of company information.
- Ability to build relationships with a variety of employees and non-employees.
