Outside Sales & Design Consultant
The Outside Sales & Design Consultant is a skilled salesperson with a strong results record, providing exceptional service in custom designs and organizational solutions for homes and select small to mid-sized business environments. This role designs and sells custom spaces to customers in their homes and business locations by appointment, managing all phases of customer projects from in-home consultation, design, installation, and organizing to provide a seamless customer experience. Responsibilities include building repeat clientele, receiving customer referrals, and creating leads, as well as developing B2B and trade relationships with property managers, builders, real estate professionals, senior living communities, and small commercial clients.

Responsibilities
- Meets or exceeds sales goals, conversions, and positive customer surveys by designing and selling complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions for residential, business, and trade clients.
- Establishes trust and rapport to understand customer needs, presenting projects and customized plans professionally.
- Manages multiple, simultaneous customer projects with high attention to detail, accuracy, timely follow-up, and consistent communication.
- Develops clientele and new leads through ongoing customer relationships, networking, referrals, and professional partnerships.
- Builds relationships within the local community by connecting with interior designers, home builders, realtors, property managers, and senior living professionals.
- Identifies, develops, and manages small to mid-sized B2B and trade opportunities, including multi-unit, repeat, or phased projects.
- Arrives promptly to all scheduled appointments and attends installations as needed to ensure a positive customer experience and identify referral opportunities.
- Maintains discretion related to all confidential and sensitive company and customer information.
Requirements
- College degree preferred; 2-5 years of outside sales experience preferred, with custom spaces or closets experience a plus.
- Self-starter who is organized, creative, solutions-oriented, and able to manage time, appointments, and projects efficiently in a white-glove customer service space.
- Knowledge of design principles and trends in custom spaces, interior design, fashion, and retail industries.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and positive attitude, with the ability to prioritize high-value tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Salesforce, AutoCAD-based design tools, and Windows-based systems.
- Reliable transportation for customer appointments within a 100-mile travel radius; must maintain valid automobile insurance and meet state inspection standards.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and additional hours as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
