Outpatient Therapy provides intensive clinical therapeutic services to individuals with identified mental health diagnoses. This service is designed to meet the specific mental health needs of the identified client as they relate to their diagnosis and can be provided in-home, in-office, or other approved/appropriate community settings. Outpatient therapy includes psycho-educational activities/interventions designed to assist the client in the reduction of dysfunction. Services are provided with client-centered and family-centered approaches and are delivered through intensive, time-limited, goal-specific interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-home or in-office services to clients as requested by the area mental health authority, including the specific hours requested.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to the identified client to enhance and foster optimal functioning and interactions in home and community.
  • Continually assess client needs, service availability, and appropriateness.
  • Work cooperatively with treatment team members and the family to meet the goals developed in the Person-Centered Plan.
  • Provide appropriate documentation for service delivery, including treatment goals, progress notes, and billing, and submit said documentation as specified by MaineCare and Hand of Mercy (HOM) standards.

Requirements

  • LCSW, LCSW-CC, LCPC, LCPC-CC, LMSW, or LMSW-CC with an active Maine State license or the ability to obtain licensure within 30 days.
  • Preference for experience and knowledge of psychosocial assessment.
  • Preference for experience working with youth, young adults, and people with mental illness.
  • Preference for experience working with individuals involved in the criminal legal system, homeless populations, and immigrants.
  • Proven ability to function effectively in a high-paced and stressful environment.
  • Ability to work independently with strong advocacy and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of participants and staff.
  • Ability to complete a minimum of 26 billable hours weekly.
  • Reliable transportation with insurance coverage.

Pay

$50–$60 per billable hour, depending on licensure status (conditionally or fully licensed). Additional compensation includes paid training, travel time, supervision, and documentation.
