About the role
Provides direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.
Responsibilities
- Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Participates in ensuring patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, along with ongoing professional development.
- Develops and documents individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with the healthcare team, patients, and families, and communicates across care continuum.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.
- Works in a safety-sensitive role requiring alertness and safe practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree; Bachelor's preferred.
- Licenses: Active RN license.
- Experience: No prior experience required; 2+ years preferred for advanced roles.
Additional Requirements
- Chemo certification and previous oncology experience are preferred.
