Outpatient Oncology Infusion Nurse

Role Overview

Provides direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care according to established standards.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family-centered care
• Educates on illness management
• Ensures safety and regulatory compliance
• Develops and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients, considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs
• Uses critical nursing skills to evaluate patient conditions and barriers to involvement in care, maintaining communication across the continuum of care
• Delivers high-quality care, patient education, and ensures safety and compliance within a collaborative healthcare team

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree and RN licensure required
• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience preferred
• Certification in chemotherapy advantageous

Skills

• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work safely and alertly in a healthcare environment
• Preferred experience in oncology and chemotherapy certification
