Organ Surgical Recovery Coordinator (Looking for Paramedic, EMT or Medical Surgical Assistants)

About the role

As an Organ Surgical Recovery Coordinator, you will assist surgeons during organ recovery surgeries, manage the organ preservation process using advanced mechanical perfusion devices, and recover corneas and heart valves for transplant. You will also organize logistics for organ recovery, including arranging team transportation and communication with NEDS and hospital staff.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or minimum of 2 years professional experience in a medical/healthcare field
  • Medical Terminology and clinical experience required
  • Aseptic Technique is preferred but not required
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite and Outlook, and ability to learn new internal NEDS systems required
  • Must be able to work long hours including overnights, holidays, and weekends
  • Must live within a 60 minute commute to Waltham, MA
  • Must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be comfortable with traveling on a small aircraft

Schedule

This is a full-time position with 24-hour on-call shifts. Shifts begin at 8:00 AM and end at 8:00 AM. In a 6-week (42-day) period, you will be on-call 28 days, which will include 8 weekend days and 20 weekdays. Expect to work overnights, holidays, and weekends.
