Organ Recovery Coordinator (Critical Care RNs desired!)
About the role
Sierra Donor Services (SDS) is seeking a dynamic Organ Recovery Coordinator to join our team in saving lives through organ and tissue donation. The ideal candidate will have two plus years of experience in a critical care setting, a registered nursing license, and the ability to exercise independent judgement and multitask.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
- Collaborates with transplant programs and surgeons to coordinate organ placement and allocation.
- Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics such as arranging transportation, ensuring surgical packaging, and preparing lab specimens for shipment.
- Supports donor families and conducts medical/social history interviews.
- Updates donor information into electronic medical records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two plus years prior experience in a critical care setting.
- Registered Nursing (RN) License Required.
- Valid Driver’s License with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
- The Organ Recovery Coordinator (ORC) works 12-hour shifts, alternating between day and night shifts.
- Employees should be flexible and available for day and night shifts, weekends, and some holidays, based on organizational needs.
- Must be prepared to adjust schedules to meet the demands of the role, ensuring 24/7 donor management and patient care.

Pay
The Organ Recovery Coordinator (ORC) annualized compensation is up to $180k.
Schedule
The Organ Recovery Coordinator works 12-hour shifts, alternating between day and night shifts. Employees working night shift receive an additional $5 per hour. Employees should plan to work 15 days per month. Work schedules are provided 30 days in advance.
