Orderly - Operating Room

About the Role

The Orderly provides ancillary support to the Operating Room, including transporting patients according to clinical condition, specimens, blood products, equipment, and supplies. Assists in moving, positioning, and sterile prepping of patients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Appropriately transports patients according to clinical condition.
• Transports specimens and blood products in a timely manner.
• Transports equipment and supplies from other departments to appropriate locations and checks functionality prior to use.
• Assists in moving, positioning, and sterile prepping of patients as needed.
• Anticipates needs, selects equipment and supplies in an organized and timely manner.
• Demonstrates ability to assess schedule and anticipate needs as conditions change.
• Prioritizes and organizes tasks appropriately.
• Demonstrates self-direction by recognizing limitations and seeking educational opportunities.
• Shows independence and initiative in completing daily assignments.
• Actively seeks opportunities to expand responsibilities.
• Demonstrates proactive approach through periodic rounding to assigned rooms.
• Communicates availability and whereabouts when leaving the unit for unassigned reasons.
• Follows appropriate procedures for patient identification and protects patient rights and confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Fingerprint Clearance.
• Child Abuse History Clearance.

Schedule

Weekend Shift (Saturday & Sunday), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
