About the role
The surgical services orderly participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team under the supervision of the Charge Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Performs direct and indirect perioperative nursing tasks for patients having surgical procedures.
- Performs patient transportation.
- Maintains selected O.R. supply levels.
- Maintains O.R. sanitation, with a strong emphasis on sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Performs tasks in a cost-effective manner without compromising quality of care.
- Maintains compliance with hospital continuing education requirements.
- Contributes to the nursing services philosophy and objectives.
- Supports organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrates career growth and development.
- Takes assigned call, including weekend shifts on a rotating basis with no more than 30 minutes response time.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- BLS certification required.
