Orderly - Operating Room

Description

SMMC, a division of Trinity Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an orderly to join our team. Weekend shift (Saturday & Sunday) 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.

The Orderly provides ancillary support to the Operating Room by:

• Appropriately transporting patients according to clinical condition.
• Transporting specimens and blood products in a timely manner.
• Transporting equipment and supplies from other departments to appropriate locations and checking functionality of all equipment prior to use.
• Assisting in moving, positioning, and sterile prepping of patients as needed.
• Anticipating needs, selecting equipment and supplies in an organized and timely manner.
• Demonstrating a consistent ability to assess schedule and anticipate needs as conditions change.
• Prioritizing and organizing needs appropriately.
• Demonstrating self-direction by recognizing limitations and seeking opportunities for education from appropriate resources.
• Showing independence and taking initiative to complete daily assignments.
• Actively seeking opportunities to expand responsibilities on a daily basis.
• Demonstrating a proactive approach through periodic “rounding” to assigned rooms throughout the course of daily activities.
• Consistently communicating availability and whereabouts when leaving the unit for unassigned reasons.
• Demonstrating appropriate procedure for patient identification at all times and protecting the patient’s rights and confidentiality.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Fingerprint Clearance.
• Child Abuse History Clearance.

Schedule

Weekend shift (Saturday & Sunday), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
