Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety standards.
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of power generation equipment, including turbines, boilers, generators, and electrical systems, to support continuous and efficient energy production.
- Manage, schedule, and train personnel, including shift operators and maintenance staff, to maintain operational readiness and support professional development.
- Prepare and maintain operational schedules, logs, and reports documenting equipment status, production metrics, and maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and equipment failures, leading troubleshooting efforts to mitigate damage and restore normal operations.
- Coincide with management and cross-functional teams to optimize plant performance, recommend operational improvements, and support capital projects or upgrades.
- Oversee the procurement of equipment, supplies, and materials required for reliable plant operations.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of heavy industrial equipment, systems, and control technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage personnel effectively, resolve conflicts, research and conduct grievance hearings, and interpret and apply company and union contracts.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and coordinate teams while fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Ability to analyze operational data, evaluate processes, and make sound decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with staff, management, and external regulatory agencies.
- Physical stamina to work in demanding industrial environments, including shift work and exposure to variable weather conditions.
- Ability to work a 7x7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred (Additional) Qualifications
- Technical proficiency with operational software and systems, including Emerson Ovation, GE Mark VIe, and SAP work and asset management systems.
- Previous experience leading represented employees.
- Strong knowledge of power generation equipment, systems, and control technologies.
