Responsibilities
- Manages the department’s schedule templates in Epic, including opening/closing and editing individual provider schedules.
- Manages the department’s outgoing and incoming referrals, scheduling appointments, submitting supporting documents, and patient outreach.
- Maintains the department’s referral report and submits prior authorization requests.
- Tracks high-risk patients and assists with patient flow and waiting room management.
- Coordinates the department’s recall/waiting list.
- Supports clerical and administrative duties such as copying, filing, faxing, correspondence, and responding to record and imaging requests.
- Coordinates and supports tasks related to departmental performance improvement projects and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assists with onboarding of Boston University Dental Residents, as needed.
- Handles all incoming calls not related to basic scheduling, and tasks associated with cancellations due to provider absence or clinic closures.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior work experience in a health care setting (call handling, scheduling, customer service) is preferred, particularly in a dental clinic.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are required.
Skills
- Computer skills are required.
- Working knowledge of insurance verification processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a patient/customer-centered, fast-paced environment.
Pay
Starting at $22/hr up to $33/hr based on experience.
